It’s that time of year again, where Annual General Meeting will bring together our members to review our previous successes and to elect new board members. Our upcoming AGM will take place on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 6:30 pm via Zoom.
Unlike in previous years, this year’s AGM will be a business – AGM only.
We are also looking for members to join our Steering Committee!
Our Steering Committee is composed of nine members who are appointed for three year terms.
Five of our members will be stepping down this year and we are looking to fill those spots. Additionally, current members may be reappointed to different roles within the committee and new roles may be added; our current roles are the following:
1. Co-chair (two members)
2. Secretary
3. Treasurer
4. Mentorship Coordinator
5. Membership Coordinator
Meetings are currently held on the last Thursday of every month and last between one to two hours. Moreover, there may be an additional one to two hours of committee work monthly or bi-monthly on as needed basis to deal with specific issues or work that needs to be completed.
The Steering Committee is involved with:
Governance and strategic planning for CAMWL
Advocacy on behalf of CAMWL
Organizing and hosting events for members of CAMWL and/or the general public
Overseeing membership of CAMWL
To run in the election, you must pay your 2020 membership fees and email your biography and statement of interest (max 300 words) to contact@camwl.ca by November 20, 2020.
Biographies and statements of interest will be emailed to members prior to the election.
To vote in the election, you must pay your 2020 membership fees by November 20, 2020.
If you joined CAMWL in 2020 and have paid your membership, you do not need to pay your 2020 membership fee again; simply let us know you have already paid and we will verify.
If you have not already paid your membership fees, please do so when RSVPing for the AGM.
